Description :

The route is more of a half-day stroll than a real hike as the elevation and distance are negligible. But what setting ! The magnificent mountain pastures and very close peaks will make this route an unforgettable memory for young and old.
For the more courageous, we recommend the Pointe d’Arvouin route, which offers a magnificent view of the Cornettes de Bise.

Family hike at Lake Arvoin

Access from the campsite :

Take the direction of Morzine, then the D22 towards Chapelle d’Abondance. Take the road on the left at the exit of the village and follow it to the terminus. Departure from the parking lot at the place called “Sevan devant”.

Detailed description :

Climb

The start is to the left of the parking lot. The path, very well marked, rises very slowly between mountain pastures strewn with wild flowers. Very quickly, you reach a first chalet, which you go around to the left. After a few minutes, we can already see the end of Lake Arvouin dominated by the Pointe d’Arvouin. Take the path on the right to follow the lake and walk to the Arvouin chalets. From here, head right towards the Col de Savalenaz. The path becomes steeper and allows you to reach the Col de Savalenaz quite easily, after a quick passage through the forest. From there, turn left on the path which climbs steeply to a small point topped with a yellow cross. After a stop opposite the Cornettes de Bise, retrace your steps and take the faint path on the right towards the rocks of Pointe d’Arvouin. After a short steep passage, we reach the Pointe d’Arvouin, overlooking Lake Arvouin and offering a magnificent view of the Cornettes de Bise and the surrounding peaks.

Descent

Take the same path as when going.
